Now, if you read yesterdays blog entry you'll remember that I had a bit of dye left over from the kids shirts. Well, I rummaged through my stash and came up with 3 pieces of 14ct aida. Not 'exactly' what I wanted, but figured I would attempt the tye dying anyway. The next 3 pics are what I came up with this morning.....
I like the last one the best. I'm not a big fan of 14 ct aida, but I think these would make some great fabrics for Halloween stitching, especially when they are cut down a bit. The colors might make some interesting backgrounds. Especially with a haunted house or something like that.
Anyway, thought I would show off my zany way of killing boredom. Hope everyone is staying cool this summer! Hugs!
WOW! Those pieces came out great! I think Halloween would look fantastic on those or a space/moon/stars type thing would look great too.

Those fabrics are incredible!!, Mary. I've dyed a lot of fabrics but never tried tie-dyeing, may have to give it a shot one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I can imagine stitching something on it with black floss!! So cool - I like the first and last ones the best!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing fabric! Love the magnet too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on tie dying the Aida. Should make some interesting projects for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the fabrics. I kind of like the colors in the first piece and the last. Like you noted they would be great for Halloween pieces. Or a fairy/dragon type pattern.
ReplyDeleteIsn't dying fabric fun? :)
the fabric is wonderful. I will have to try my hand at it. I really like the second and third ones. I think a great saying stitched in black would be great on any of them. That way you would see the fabric behind it. Great Job. Let us know what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish and I love the material you dyed.
