I put the last stitches in this yesterday. It was the last block I needed for the zoo theme quilt. I am absolutely thrilled to have all 12 blocks done!
And now that the blocks are done, I get to start the quilting part. This is the fabric I'll be using:
The blue will be on the front of the quilt, the green is a soft flannel that will be used on the back. (Thanks Ethel for sending it!) I've decided not to use any other fabrics for this one so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
Next on the stitching block is things for myself that have nothing to do with the charity quilts. I've got way too many things sitting here needing attention...like moms bday gift and my LK words. Hope to spend the next week or two working on those things and putting 2 of these quilts together. Hope the next update will have some kind of finish to show..LOL Hugs to all!
Your flowers are beautiful. I dont know what kind they are so I cant help you there. The flamingos are so cute. What patterns are using to make these blocks? I love the fabric you are using. I think it will look great. I wish I knew how to do quilting.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers. Don't know what they are, but love them anyway. I think your quilt is going to be so cute! And glad you are taking time out for "your" stitching. I know when I got so wrapped up in SFAC I missed stitching just "because".
ReplyDeleteVery cute material for the blanket, I say this both because it is cute, and also because it is one of my favorite patterned fabric. I nearly did a baby blanket for a friend expecting in August, but then found out that the new babies brothers each had jungle, so I decided to go with frogs and lizards. I saw Pat when he took the boys to wal-mart for those flowers, but was in a hurry to get to a part, so didn't stop and say hi, and don't have a clue what kind of flowers those are, but they are very pretty. I am glad you had a good mothers day.
